Neuroscience Research Foundation Dedicated to Promoting the Advancement of Neuroscience
Dr. Joseph C. Maroon founded the Neuroscience Research Foundation in 1985. The Foundation is a not-for-profit funding source that supports clinical neurosurgical research. Donations that support the Foundation have come from corporations and many individual donors. The research supported by the foundation has help make many neurosurgical procedures safer and less invasive.
The research has focused on: Methods to prevent traumatic injury to the brain and nervous system; the development of new minimally invasive surgical techniques; and a more holistic, natural approach to the treatment of pain and inflammation.
Many critically ill patients can now have a fuller and more productive life due to the research supported by the Neuroscience Research Foundation. The unique aspect of this foundation is that it is primarily funded by donations from grateful patients.
